12:49 PM
Good day :)

2 hours later…
2:34 PM
@Rubén g'day

2:47 PM
@ZachSaucier Hey. Good to "read" you :)

haha, nice to meet you too
I feel like I know some people very well from chatting with them online over the years

@ZachSaucier I know what you mean.
This chat is used very rarely, unfortunately.

I noticed. But as I said before, I've added it to my favorites so hopefully we can get some sort of momentum
what's your RL job?

@ZachSaucier Good question. At this time I'm "re-engineering" my self, jeje

from what to what?

2:53 PM
I'm a part-time university teacher.
From full-time university staff to "freelance"

freelance teacher?

In Spanish there is a term that I like, but I don't know how to say it in English.
"Emprendigente"
Emprendedor + Indigente
Entrepreneur + indigent
hehe

XD

so you want to create your own products? or still focus on teaching?

2:59 PM
@ZachSaucier I want to create my own products, some of them related to teaching-learning

Cool!

So, being a teacher is part of my research

Right
software products or more physical products?

"software" (one minute, please)
The idea is to offer a "combo", some tools as examples of what could be done, workshops to develop skills to use the tools and to adapt them to the needs of the participants and courses/talks to share/discuss the "whys"

I see

3:10 PM
Institutions expend a lot of money on licenses of software that are never used.
@ZachSaucier: What about you?

My skills are primarily in frontend web development but this year I'm working with a non-tech nonprofit Christian organization

@ZachSaucier Are you doing a tech job for them?

no, not this year

@ZachSaucier Is this a one-year assignment? Some friends does something similar several years ago, they called these experiences as "misiones" (missions). Those days there was no easy to have a Internet connection so they were "disconected" most of the time.
@ZachSaucier Great.
:38428042 As a teacher I don't see assignments as something that one could not say no. I try to teach my students about free will...
and the consequences

I agree, but it has a different connotation most times
it reminds me of Mormons who are required by their faith to do "missions" for 2 years

3:24 PM
@ZachSaucier Oh, now I understand better what you mean, I think
In some way is like being a "non-diamond moderator"
XD

I don't understand your relation there

@ZachSaucier It was a bad joke I think. I'm sorry. No offense.

haha, none taken

Regarding Web Applications, what do you like about it?

3:41 PM
I really like giving users the ability to customize their experience. I'm a big proponent of making things "remix-able"
so userscript type of questions are my favorite
I maintain a Chrome extension that lets users customize how they read web articles

@ZachSaucier Great.
By the way, do you know how stack snippets work?

Long story short, I tried to post code that use the Geolocation API
but it is blocked by stack snippet

you can't user third party scripts in snippets
use something like jsfiddle instead

apparently because it doesn't include 'allow-same-origin"

Q: Add allow-same-origin to the Stack Snippet sandox in order to be able to run Geolocation API

RubénRelated support question: ERROR(1): User denied Geolocation Please add allow-same-origin to the Stack Snippet sandbox in order to be able to use the Geolocation API. As example, the following code was taken from the above link. Once I clicked the Show my location button, the result panel shows ...

3:47 PM
CORS, yes

Geolocation API is one of the "basic" Web APIs, there is no need to load libraries
