You pushed the idea that we should start with a wide open scope, and then restrict it from there.

I agreed with you, but in general people really seemed to hate the idea.

Which upon reflection I think was strange because people tended to (eventually and very slowly) adopt your ideas. But not that one.

Do you know why that was?

I think it's kind of odd to categorize decisions by who proposed or supported them. Not every idea I have is good, not all my understandings of Stack Exchange operations are accurate or uncontroversial.

Starting wide and moving in isn't the only way Stacks create their scope, and the other ways aren't wrong.
