@Downgoat IE11 is still 12% of the browser market though

@Downgoat It's moderately ready. It's usable and stable, just lacking in features. We could consider this an alpha.

So I'm fine with a link being here, but I don't want to include it on GH until we have the todo list finished

2:16 PM
The todo list still has a handful of important fields unchecked (e.g moderation, privilege system, rep system, notifications, editing/deletion), so it'll take a while until that link ends up on GH :P

@Mego but is that the general market or the codegolf market? How often do people who participate in codegolf force themselves to use IE?

6:33 PM
@Mego My data says IE has 2.7% of market, prob even less among programmers/code-golfers

7:07 PM
@Downgoat "proposed golf" not only to your answers, but to other answers as well

@Cowsquack yes definetly
so i was wondering should we 1) do a review queue so 'trusted' users can vote onto accepting a 'proposed golf' 2) only the author can golf their answer

is "trusted users" a rank that you get with rep (or something similar?)

I think such a review queue should exist, in which trusted users can give feedback regarding the changes (find bugs, suggest even more golfs, or otherwise just approve/reject them) but the author only should be able to merge them

the first option would be good in a catalogue type challenge, but otherwise the second one
are there going to be "trusted users" per lang?

9:05 PM
@Cowsquack not sure yet. I think for gamification purposes I'd go for a 'point' system where certain achievements/badges get you points
and rep/points either way imo aren't a great metric for trust

so what otheer metric are you thinking of?

perhaps we could yeah, do it per-lang and have some metric that determines trust (e.g. amount of golfs in a lang etc.)
e.g. if you have had 95% of your golfs accepted in JavaScript and you have posted at least X JS solutions that is the shortest JS solution for a given challenge, you would become a 'Trusted JS user'

but what about proposed golfs to your js answers (that helped you get teh shortest solution)?

we could factor those in too by a smaller amount
if you have a significantly different solution you should just post it as your own and get more points too
