to be honest assuming the devs of Mutiny cut out the H Scenes which i know they would have, the only thing Valve has to complain about with it is maybe some breasts and a Futa Pirate with a bulge in her shorts. far more tame than what you see in The Witcher
the difference? art style and that the devs for The Witcher have more money
people seem to get angry that big western AAA studios get away with sexual content at a level that would get any VN banned, but for me that isn't a big complaint tbh
@LoganM well why not? is shows a double standard coupled with how vague the ToS is reported to be in regards to sexual content but details when it comes to hate content
For me the bigger complaint with steam as a platform is that extreme graphic violence is somehow completely fine, but literally any nudity is enough to cause worry
Most people are naked every day, and most people never shoot anyone, but somehow games which show naked people are abnormal and games which let you shoot people are fine.
of course, there's also the issue of the double standard, but honestly everyone is a hypocrite so it doesn't bother me that much
Anyway steam never seemed like a great platform for VNs in the first place. You have no need for online play, updates/patches are rare, and there's no way to sell physical merchandise (which tends to be a big part in Japan).
If those were the only issues it would still be workable, but if they're going to take down or censor stuff based on poorly specified guidelines, it just isn't worth it
In the first place, if you just wait a few years for the prices to drop it's usually cheaper to import it anyway, and it tends to take at least that long for most good VNs to show up on steam (not the made-for-steam kind which are honestly pretty bad)
@LoganM i know, i saw a Visual Novel claiming to be shoujo ai/yuri but was written by someone who's only seen lesbian porn and the stolen background image was from a film where the silhouettes in the background was a guy and girl
i'm guessing that maybe why Valve is going nuclear now is that there's probably been a flood of crap VNs from asset flip bot farmers who just use them to turn Steam into a money printer
@LoganM yeh, and that average took over when Greenlight was shut down and you just needed to pay $100. not that Greenlight was much better with the bribing going on

I was hoping to get a big figurine to put in the middle instead of two smaller ones. But I totally forgot about the fucking water tubes.
Saber Lily is physically too long because of the sword. It can be rotated into a way that fits, but not in a desirable orientation. The tubes gets in the way in both cases as they hit her massive dress.
For Reium, the only orientation she will fit is if the staff goes behind the tubes. But that puts her in an undesirable orientation.
The other two are small ones which were really meant for my display cabinet. But I they are available to put in a computer case if necessary.
@Memor-X I thought about it. And sure enough, it does fit. Just barely. About 2mm clearance between her and ram. And no extra clearance in the front and the glass side panel.
Another option is to keep Kuroneko on the left and get the Kirino pair on the right. (they're a matching pair) But the video card isn't long enough. So unless the right-side figurine is really small or is a very large base, it will fall off the end and lean into the fans.
I also can't bend the tubes out of the way since they are very stiff. You also don't want to put any unnatural pressure on them since it increases the risk of a leak.
lol, Saber Lily fits if I put her in there backwards on the left side. Her dress just barely clears the left fan and the tubes. The sword in her right hand goes in front of the tubes.
It'll be quite difficult to actually make this rig look as good as my other one. The other one has the video card in the natural slot and it literally has a standing platform in front to place a figurine.
@Frosteeze Even in the worst conditions, it never gets above 50C inside.
The worst I've seen is 45C. Hot summer day with the computer running full blast sustained for a long time.
But I do need to be careful to make sure the figurine doesn't touch the ram or any of the various heatsinks on the motherboard.
