@Gao Some Seiyus have multiple voices that are completely different. And you (for first time listeners) really won't know it's the same person unless you look it up or if the person does both in the same series. The two that comes to mind are Yui Horie and Yukari Tamura. Yui Horie has a very soft voice which she uses for the very nice and well-mannered female characters. But she also has a much stronger voice for the psychotic characters.

The shows where both of them are used for the same character are when the character starts off nice, then suddenly shows a different (insane) side.

The previous example I remember is Kisara from Black Bullet.

Yukari Tamura has a loli voice and a more adult voice. Typically used together in shows where the character is both a child and an adult at some point. (i.e. Rika from Higurashi)

good anime to learn and remember the seiyuu's names and voices

for the casual anime watchers, it's already hard to remember the characters' names which are mentioned numerous times onscreen, let alone seiyuu's names which only appear in the credtis

@Gao or maybe they need to do something that the fans will remember. i remember Nana Mizuki does Fate in Nanoha because during a stage performance she confirmed Nanoha's and Fate's engagement by proposing in character

@Memor-X I typically only remember the female ones with very unique voices. There's only a maybe 4 or 5 of them I can instantly recognize with just one or a few sentences. But there's probably at least 10 more I'll be able to identify if I mentally run down a list and trying to match each one individually.

the best i can do is "oh, so-and-so sounds like that character from series X", and then I'll have to look up the seiyuu's names

I think I'm able to recognise Takehito Koyasu, Rie Kugimiya and Mamiko Noto quite well

look Kancolle because the outfit looks like a an Aircraft Carrier, like Kaga. though to my understanding that's also the typical outfit of japanese archers

@Mysticial not all ships have those, most Aircraft Carriers uses bows and i think there's a couple who have Scrolls

and there are fanart with guns, swords, rockets and everything else and not a kancolle

@Darjeeling I think Ghibli films have been going downhill after Spirited Away, which is at its prime time.

If there's one seiyu that's in almost every show I watch (often as a main character) and yet I still do not insta-recognize her voice is Haruka Tomatsu.

Q: Language in One Piece

I understand that One Piece is anime and not real, but come to think of it, how come everyone speaks the same language. In the Punk Hazard Arc, Kin'emon exclaimed about foreign lands from where the straw hats came. But still, everyone with no exclusions speaks the same. Any indications or anything?
