Alright. I picked option 2 for hope that people will find the resource before asking instead of always having to be told. Otherwise I don't think it matters either way.

I think we can safely say that option 3 will probably get no votes.

@Eric The advantage I see of doing it on meta as opposed to main is that it makes it seem more official. That way we don't encourage a lot of not very well-thought-out questions of this type, and the ones we do get won't clog up the main page. But there are definitely advantages for doing it on main as well.

Usually they tell you the reason. Such as "This user has been temporary suspended to cool down." Or something of that sort.

But in most cases, the offending material is removed.

I had one instance yesterday that if it kept going, someone might have found themselves suspended.

Fortunately, I didn't let myself get dragged into what going to be an obvious flamewar.

@Mysticial For over 9 months though? I've seen lots of suspensions like that, but they usually only last for a couple of weeks at the longest.

With each subsequent infraction going up to the next.

And really bad ones will just jump to the longer terms.

@Eric Ones closed <30 days are usually dupes or "Not a viable proposal" which means that there's no way the proposal could work on SE even if there were an audience for it.

The ones closed for inactivity get deleted soon after, as do the ones closed for other reasons (unless they had a lot of activity, in which case they survive longer)
