I tried watching spice and wolf like 3 times; I've seen 7 episodes into it. I wanted to like it since everyone says it's more mature than similar-looking shows, but I just didn't see it, and I wonder what I was missing.
people probably just can't get into because despite the supernatural element there's very little use of it apart from Holo using it to inflate her ego. Second season borders on Netorare at the start which i hate but that's just because Laurence is a complete idiot for 1, even having that competition and 2, imaging that carp to begin with
still i liked it and wished more of the series was translated, manga is still ongoing and i wouldn't mind reading the light novels are still being released and the DS Games would be in japanese so seeing english patches for them would be rare
@memor-x Chinese grammar is easier, coming from English, than Japanese. Also, I wasn't being entirely serious with my suggestion (although there are better reasons to learn Chinese)

In Japanese, what I can understand when spoken way outstrips the kanji I know readings for. The SKIP method is nice, but it still takes me a while to look words up

That's the arcade game: The Typing of the Dead 2. The first game got an English translation for PC/dreamcast, but not the second.
It has many songs. At the initial screen with the chihayafuru background, use up and down arrows to change song. Left and right change difficulty folder (see difficulty folder in top right)
I'd imagine that would be about as big a problem as the songs on osu! which aren't properly timed. Basically makes it impossible to do unless you mute the music.

@krikara Help center explicitly says that "Questions about the Japanese language [are off-topic]". The tag wiki for japanese-language also says "Questions with this tag must still be primarily about anime or manga.". I think I have a meta post on this also.
At the end of the day, we're a site about anime and manga. It's fine if you have a question about anime/manga which involves Japanese language stuff. It's not okay if you have a question about Japanese which involves anime/manga.
Just like it wouldn't be okay to ask "Do Japanese people lock their houses when they leave? I saw in X show that someone could break in to someone else's house because it wasn't locked and I'm wondering if this is common in Japan."
Does that mean all related questions to be considered on topic has to be about a very specific instance of Japanese used? Because if we ask about Japanese and Manga both in a general sense, it seems that the Japanese part will always take precedence.
@krikara Yes, in most cases. Unless the question is actually specific to anime/manga and it's definitely done differently in other media.
Basically, if you're asking here, you're asking about anime/manga, not Japanese. If I can answer it solely by telling you about things in Japanese, then your question is off-topic. If you don't know enough Japanese to tell whether it can be answered that way, then you shouldn't be trying to ask questions about a language you don't know about on a site that isn't dedicated to that language.
@LoganM It's hard to say how they're doing the caching though. ASP.NET has a built-in caching mechanism but that would be global, and if we're seeing different cached results then it wouldn't be using that.
I am so getting a Fate/Extra Nero and Tama Tapestry just so i can get them to talk back, even if the AR component may just have a couple of phrases it's worth it to have them talking
