@Krazer I agree with that, but I'm not active on either of those sites. At least on Scifi, I've seen the blog post I linked to mentioned on Meta, so I'm not sure their policy is any different from what I am saying.
Also, both of those sites are almost exclusively dedicated to in-universe content, with little discussion of broader themes, tropes, archetypes, etc. Personally, I think anime is a distinctive-enough medium that we can discuss these things here in a reasonably fact-based way, and I prefer those questions over most of the random in-universe stuff, but I can see good arguments for restricting to in-universe content.
