I didn't know they had that feature of automatically appointing room owners.

I guess they implemented that after the original C++ room in SO got abandoned and a mod had to manually assign room owners back to it.

If there's a bin (like on SO), then you can pseudo delete messages.

The other main use for it is to deal with trolls.

When a really disruptive user shows up, we would sometimes pull gallery mode.

Then we give everyone else write-access.

Since SO doesn't allow room-owners to ban people, that's the best you can do.

We don't usually change feeds. Once they're set, they're set.

That said, somebody needs to be room owner.

And in a busy room like the C++ room, we have enough room owners from different timezones to always have one online at all times.

And it's gonna take a while to get used to the new CSS layouts.

Originally, it used large font for single and double digit vote counts.

Then it switched to small fonts for 3-digit vote counts obviously to get it to fit.

'nemuru' is something like 'to sleep'... you can probably nominalize that to 'sleep', although there are a few better choices

'neru' is 'to sleep' in the sense of "to lay down in bed"... and is one of the words used for the version that involves other people >_>
