Q: Why won't the "Unlock Keyring" window go away?

Curtice GoughI'm running Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS and whenever I'm logged in, I get this window: I type in my password, and it disappears and comes back a second later. After ten attempts at typing in my password, it finally goes away. I tried pressing cancel, but its the same result. I wouldn't mind so much ...

chrome and other apt store keys in the keyring. when these apps need the key you have to unlock the keyring for them

@ravery ok so how do I get rid of it?

are you using autologin? all the solutins I see say to turn off autologin, or set the keyring password to blank

@ravery I don't know what autologin is.

it allows you automatically login instead of typing password

7:43 PM
@ravery no I'm not using autologin. I have a strong password.

and the keyring has the same password as your login?

hello?

This is my first time in a chat room

are you using ubuntu or debian?

yep those are the keyrings

they all say login though

why so many, yes odd

should I delete them?

yes delete all except the one that is unlocked

you should only have the one login keyring

try rebooting

it didn't work
Sorry, I have to go now. Bye and thanks for your help.
