If there's one thing that playing railbound has taught me it's that the secret of the train industry is randomly placing rails until things work
Like one moment you have a set up that clearly isn't a good (and can be a rather silly) but then change a few rails and their direction and bam you've gone from having a bad to having a good
Sometimes trains go infinite loop. Other times choo choo make it to train
It's all luck based I've come to realise.
It's also taught me that T intersections are a myth
They do not exist
If you see someone claiming they use T intersections in anything in life, you know straight away they're telling you misinformation
"I used a T intersection at to build a diverse train rail road track...thing" fact check just dropped and it says you wrong and you lying
"they installed a T intersection at the local traffic corner" nuh uh they didn't look again bingus
"I soldered my wires in a T intersection pattern for better optimisation and power spread" like this is wiring, save the letters for people doing code goofus
All of these hypothetical people saying they use t intersections are liars
At best, people claiming the t intersections are experiencing an RNG error and should wrap their life in a try catch block
But at worst, they're trying to trick you into thinking that the precise rail building logic of railbound is a simplification of building tracks for trains
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk
I will now return the microphone that I stole back to Ted

@lyxal this is how it works in Satisfactory too
unless you're one of those people that actually tries to make coherent train spirals and such
virgin routing trains around Blue Crater Lake vs chad building a ten thousand meter bridge directly over it
I wonder how much incomprehensible jargon I can come up with for Satisfactory
problem with trains is that you get them at, like, tier 3
so until then you get to either make fettuccine or use tractors for everything
problem is: BCL and the delicious quartz deposits on the opposite side from Grass Fields
I can't remember if you need quartz for tier 3?
but that's about when you'll start wanting windows and such
so what we ended up doing on the server I run is building a bunch of power towers around BCL to get to it and ziplining over to take the raw ore every once in a while
I don't anticipate us setting up automated quartz transport from BCL to base until trains, just because of how annoying creating a tractor route would be
the terrain is no fun
