@MartinEnder handcrafted levels, and it doesn't feel like a permadeath game. I'd be really surprised if there was permadeath

CMC: Is it possible to get 18 queens on the board from a set of valid moves? If not, what's the most that you can get?

@DJMcMayhem Definitely not - the pawns would block each other

I think the best you can do is 14

But I'm not sure if you can get to 14 without a checkmate/stalemate

@Mego You can get one column past each other if you sacrifice enough other pieces (2 needed)
Then after one column is cleared out, the board is more open so you need less pieces sacrificed

True, I didn't think about sacrificing power pieces to get pawns in a column

It's definitely possible. I just got it. That was easier than I thought
And I kept two rooks also

@DJMcMayhem is that the equivalent of 112% in Hollow Knight?

@MartinEnder No, there's still the last difficulty setting, and the last boss. It's probably more like getting the final nail upgrade except harder

@DJMcMayhem Seems like filling the forge is just a function of time (I haven't deaded some cells in quite awhile so iunno)

@Veskah Except you have to play on higher and higher BC mode, and you can only dump cells into the forge after a boss

@Veskah deaded, verb: to maek the thing dead

6:49 PM
In that case, I deaded most things in lots of games.

Deading things is a popular topic of games in general

SMM question: How do you put a shell on your head?
Like, what button do you press?

Also, is it available in all of the modes?

Down I think?
@NathanMerrill No (I think?)
Actually I have no idea

7:01 PM
Found a wiki!
yeah, the crouch button, which I imagine is down: mariowiki.com/Buzzy_Shell

2 hours later…
8:37 PM
@NathanMerrill yes, you need to press down while holding the shell. I think it's only unavailable in SMB (can't hold things) and SMW3D (no buzzies or spinies).
I'm not entirely sure about SMB3. I feel like it should exist, but I'm not sure I've ever seen it.
