@quid Queues are that recent? That is odd, I am around for approximately 5 years and I don't recall a time without queues.
@quid Different topic: regarding your comment here. I think you didn't intend this to be an actual suggestion (did you?), but I don't think this is a terrible idea actually. It would certainly need tweaks to be practical, though.
For instance, has there been any suggestion about requiring a question to have 2 or more of positive vote balance in order for a question to be answered, or something like that? This could encourage upvoting and also hinder reputation-hunters, while also not requiring the bureaucratic process of a queue, allowing fluidness.

@AloizioMacedo in the context of that discussion I meant it as a thought-experiment. But, I suppose "triage" (which is done on SO) goes a bit in that direction, as does the First Post queue in a weak way.
@AloizioMacedo well, do you remember a time without a thread of this form? The specicific post is not that old but the description was mostly copied over from an older one. I am pretty sure the thread predates the queues.
The idea/original version of the thread is from october 2012.
The FAQ on the main meta on the queues is from january 2013.
