@amWhy If you're leaving then I'm leaving. I'm not going to let someone drive you or anyone else off this site.

@amWhy if you want to bring it up on meta, then do so.
I've done what I can to clean things up and make sure this gets resolved satisfactorily, as have a few others... Right now waiting on responses from the rest of the team. Since I see nothing time-sensitive currently, I'm not inclined to rush that.

@Shog9 what ironic timing
people are looking for you

@Typhon Why?

apparently balarka sen and some other guy are being harassed again with flags
over flagging

I'm doing a final chat sweep before I check out for the week.

12:12 AM
or at the very least they feel it is insincere and would like some help clearing it up
they were discussing it here

Ok; I'll look in a few minutes

thanks
apparently the word "normie" (in any context) is a bannable offense and got multiple people muted
tbh, I'll probably get muted now too

@Shog9 No, I'd rather not. Certainly not now.
@Shog9 Thanks. I appreciate it.
Also, have a nice week off!

12:36 AM
Well, the two days left in it

@Shog9 i think she thought you were taking a week off.

ah. No, not so lucky

@Shog9 well you can take a week off along with the rest of your life. XD
i.e. you'd be fired

well, I could just take a week off too... But then I'd have twice as much to do when I returned.

lol

12:42 AM
nice to wait for a quiet time

yeah
makes sense
so do you work here? at SE?

yep
As for the flags... I don't know what this "normie" thing is all about, but several people appear to be bothered by it and El'endia's been handling it, so I'd defer to that. I don't see any huge amounts of flags or targeting as of yet.

there's been other stuff in the main chat apparently
complaints anyways about mass flagging again
that's the concern anyways
cause the thing is that the term was not directed at an individual at all
nor were any people in the discussion bothered by it
which to me at least makes it seem a bit insincere. Like... why would it be flagged if it was just being used a word?
it's not profanity

@Typhon yeah, I looked at both rooms.

afaik, but tbh I've never seen the word before now
i assume they made it up

12:45 AM
Yeah, I have no idea. I put it down to "Internet craziness" but if you're interested I'd just ask.

fair enough
btw, does ted's comment here count as rude? chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/39898337#39898337

what do you think?

@Shog9 i took it as a personal attack
him not liking me for some reason
@Shog9 considering it was a reply to dodsy pretty rudely coming at me several times saying i was flagging people when i wasn't.... yeah it was a pretty rude remark by ted.

I wouldn't think so hard about it.

fair enough
are username changes that frowned upon though?

@amWhy Actions have consequences. After dealing with them, we need to move on.
Note that I didn't say that there should be no consequences. And frankly you have been a bit too rash in your recent responses to me, and I hope you will calm down. Please do not suggest that I wish to pretend that nothing happened, as it is not only incorrect but also wrong on your part. I understand you've been through a lot recently, so I will assume that you do not intend to wrong me. But you should know me better than that.

@MartinSleziak arjafi is indeed an excellent moderator. He must have his reasons for doing certain things.

@Jasper There is always a reason for everything, but that does not mean that the reason is always right. I think it's not fair to attempt judgement of an issue that one does not know the details of.

10:17 AM
@user21820 I actually do know the details of many things, but I won't speak about them. I came here simply because I did not like people saying bad things about a good moderator.

@Jasper Alright. I'll wait and see what the resolution is.

@user21820 And if you do offer a class in proof theory in the chats in future, maybe I will go there and take a look. See you. =D

@Jasper Oh okay. By the way you're welcome to the Logic room. I saw you there but you disappeared before I could say hi.

10:57 AM
@Jasper quite frankly that type of discourse is pretty unhelpful in my opinion, for everybody involved.

@quid Sorry. I won't say anything anymore in this room. Thanks.

@user21820 I really don't know what you are speaking of, that I "have been a bit too rash in [my] rescent responses to [you]". Not at all in this context, regarding matters on meta and its aftermath. If you're appealing to one occasion elsewhere (in which I was not "rash" at all, but politely honest), do you think that's on topic in the meta math chatroom?

@amWhy I'll just say that I do not believe that there should be "no consequences", nor that "Mod's can do what ever they please". Your previous comment with these phrases made me feel that you thought I believed these. I don't. Hope this clarifies things.

@user21820 Yes, it does (help clarify).

@amWhy Okay. I've to go off soon, so take care and see you next time!
