> "I encourage the airlines to repay passengers if they can. At the same time, some of those airlines are in deep difficulty in terms of their own ability to continue to function if they were having to provide refunds to all of the customers."
So in other words, this guy supports airlines keeping themselves afloat by stealing money from customers
Well, and normally a candidate would do a big thing after the other one concedes, so his campaign is probably trying to figure out what to do when the other candidate refuses to concede
@TimStone even Mitch Mcconnell didn't delay that long i think yesterday or the day before
WH Attorney: we are not letting staff speak because they may violate the Hatch Act Reporter: isnt the Hatch Act the one about using the public office for personal gain like what Trump has been doing with his business since being elected? just how are they going to violate the act by speaking about the legal drama Trump has started about the election? WH Attorney: ummm, well you see.......*takes out dinner napkin with Sharpie Bleed Through* Blame everything on illegal votes and walk off
*after an awkward silence the Attorney walks away*
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito issues a temporary order requiring Pennsylvania officials to segregate ballots that arrived after Election Day t.co/gdKknzGGPX
> Valid question Trump's legal team is asking:
How many people who requested and mailed in ballots near or on Election Day also showed up at the polls on Election Day and cast ballots in Philly, Milwaukee, Detroit, Atlanta and Vegas? https://twitter.com/paulsperry_/status/1324776540035534848?s=19
This is literally the exact thing Trump encouraged his voters who used mail in ballots to do
It also wouldn't work
From Paul Sperry, who Trump retweeted. I'm not quite sure who he is, but he's obviously corrupt.
Holy crap the American right sure are hard at work at trying to steal this election holy crap. Trump's Wall is just retweets of this.
It's still so dumb that I can't report tweets for election interference because I'm not in the US.
@NapoleonWilson your vote is anonymous though, right? Or will they just see that someone sent a mail-in ballot and signed the voting roll document and call that a double vote?
@Nzall i think it's only who you voted is anonymous but who had voted is matched to an electoral role so that way you are voting for your country/state
when i go to Vote in Australia, there's a couple of people who are marking off names. and also it's know when we havn't voted even with a mail in because my first local council election the post lost my ballot and i got a fine for not voting
i suspect something similar in the US atleast
(though if not, wow, Australia is starting to look like paradise. better voting systems, public health care, green energy batteries)
@Nzall oh yeh. my uncle wrote an Affidavit indicating he was witness to me having filled it out and mailed it because i asked him where i was supposed to post it (wasn't sure if there was a special drop off point for ballots)
Judges: show, us, the, evidence! Lawyer: it's all over the place, you just have to look at it yourself Judges: that, is, your, job. are we speaking slowly enough for you?
@Memor-X lol you vastly underestimate how scummy some lawyers are
@Memor-X I mean sure, but the flip side is they get a reputation for being willing to defend anyone. And also likely willing to bend and break whatever laws the client wants.
So she also did a whole bunch of retweeting of election conspiracy stuff around this time and I'm curious if she thought maybe that would fix the problem or if that was just a hobby
I know it's bad for the country that Trump is losing real slowly like this instead of ripping off the band-aid, but man, knowing he's just slowly watching it slip away feels good
Well folks, we barely got through this, sure glad we'll do absolutely nothing to prevent it from happening again but at least we have relief for the moment!
@NapoleonWilson I dunno. That sounds like a demand for Arizona to count votes until the count is in favor of Trump. Two days ago Cruz went on Fox News basically echoing the Trump rhetoric: "Rampant fraud." "We need transparency."
@SaintWacko "deceased" voters? Didn't the Simpsons do that? Like, I distinctly remember Lisa using the public records of Springfield voters and finding that a lot of dead people voted
> Donald Trump has lost the presidency. Americans have sent packing the man who made the lives of so many a hell for the past four years with constant chaos, unbridled vitriol and attacks on the foundations of democracy. There may be difficulty in the days ahead because of (gratuitous) court challenges and (baseless) claims of fraud. The rage he has induced in supporters and opponents alike will take time to dissipate. But for a moment, let us rejoice: Our democracy has survived.
Doublethink is a process of indoctrination whereby the subject is expected to accept a clearly false statement as the truth, or to simultaneously accept two mutually contradictory beliefs as correct, often in contravention to one's own memories or sense of reality. Doublethink is related to, but differs from, hypocrisy.
George Orwell invented the word doublethink (as part of the fictional language of Newspeak) in his 1949 dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. In the novel, its origins within the citizenry is unclear; while it could be partly a product of Big Brother's formal brainwashing programs...
Lol is wikipedia.org one boxing not working now too? Chat is so terrible
(tl;dr it's just seeing associations in tweets, but also now he's definitely going to nuke Twitter HQ)
Anyway it's incredibly funny that world leaders are all congratulating Biden before Trump has even conceded (assuming he ever technically does), just ultimate "we never liked you" energy
I just had an enlightening 2 hour long conversation with a Trump voter. Apparently, a lot of Trump supporters were voting against Biden because of 3 reasons: 1) they judge Biden based on his 1993 racial views without considering he changed since then; 2) They only know Trump from his rhetoric and don't follow a lot of his actual policy; 3) Harris is FAAAAAAAR left (his words) and they're worried this is a ploy to get her as president
Like, the Trump supporter I talked to was surprised when I replied to his "we're respected again on the world stage, we're making peace and we stopped war" with how Trump's NATO attacks were severely damaging for American diplomacy, he betrayed Kurdish allies, risked WW3 by assassinating Soleimani.
I'm only surprised because when I checked last night they were mocking Biden's speech as "fake unity" and saying that he's claiming victory just like Trump did, and they should have cut him off like some networks cut off Trump
I'll say again loudly: Don't rule out Gross from Alaska
Strange things happen in this state.
And speaking as someone who held on to my mail-in ballot for a few weeks, Dr Gross aggressively campaigned by mail to mail-in voters while they still had their ballot.
