> Injuries not life-threatening, arrests made 'incredibly quickly,' police chief says
> Police took three people into custody and recovered two firearms, Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders told reporters.
> "In this particular case, because of the quick apprehensions and the fact we were able to control the situation to the best of our abilities in a short period of time, the event was able to go on," he said.
I'm really curious to see what we find out about this in the coming days.

the only way this ends up not being sad is if he's found still at the bottom but having revealed to be a cheater as he has gills or they find him years later living with a mistress in the US

"Sure it'll cause significant damage now, BUT! magic"

Apparently, being shot at by the cops does not violate 4th amendment rights
If I read that correctly, that is

I mean... yes? I don't much see a problem with that statement, laws on jaywalking shouldn't have relevance to a murder case

@Unionhawk pffffff

3:05 PM
> JUST IN: Liz Cheney blasts Ocasio-Cortez for concentration camp remarks
Hmmm
Just in, I blast Liz Cheney for not doing anything about the concentration camps

Yeah that is a fun ratio on twitter

Shanahan has withdrawn as SecDef nominee
And his wife punched him in the face?
jfc what is with this dude's family
> In November 2011, Shanahan rushed to defend his then 17-year-old son, William Shanahan, in the days after the teenager brutally beat his mother. The attack had left Shanahan’s ex-wife unconscious in a pool of blood, her skull fractured and with internal injuries that required surgery, according to court and police records
Not sure how you play the self-defense angle on that one, holy hell
> She then began throwing her husband’s clothes out of a window, according to police and court records, and tried to set them on fire, with a propane tank she couldn’t dislodge from a barbecue grill and later with burning paper towels.
On the flip side that is not normal behavior either
jfc, cw on the article because they have the full details of the bat assault and it is messed up

@Unionhawk I can't remember, is there a federal law on the books preventing employers from paying their employees in company credit?
I'm fairly certain there is, but I want to be sure.

Yeah, it's the Fair Labor Standards Act

5:53 PM
> The Fair Labor Standards Act was originally drafted in 1932 by Senator Hugo Black. Black's proposal to require employers to adopt a thirty-hour workweek met stiff resistance.
oh what could have been

Like you could get your salary tallied in Zuckbucks that got converted at the end of the pay period if that was somehow beneficial to drive adoption 🤔
No one tell them that
Iran, still at the table:
Shanahan is also resigning his current post so we have no Acting SecDef and no confirmed Deputy SecDef
Excellent
Sure glad we're not trying to start a wa…*looks up*…Hmm
> Former Maine governor plans to spend his summer bartending
🤔
Oh I have good news, the bar is on the waterfront
This is perhaps our best chance to make Paul LePage get in the sea
Well I wasn't sure how things could get more dumb but guess what everyone

Ignoring everything else I can't imagine having the will to dedicate that much effort to any one thing that wasn't work
And you do that out of necessity, not like, as your retirement

10:16 PM
@TimStone I'm used to it after hearing of people who follow their favorite bands all over for concerts.
Like not just seeing them every time they're in town.
Like literally going to multiple shows on the same tour in different states, driving and staying in hotels, etc.

Yeah, there seems something…particular about that mindset which probably explains a lot

In conclusion, mental health is important.

looool the judge sanctioned Alex Jones over those very obvious threats
