a sizzling is heard
Ex-GOP lawmaker: Obama was elected because he was black http://hill.cm/kr28ERu

what if no

1:56 AM
Loaded gun stored in an oven gets too hot and shoots owner. https://boingboing.net/2018/05/25/loaded-gun-stored-in-an-oven-g.html
It really feels like gun storage laws should at least be less controversial politically on account of people clearly being dumb as hell
On the uh…plus…side? This person put it in the oven to begin with to hide it from kids but get a gun safe ffs

2:21 AM
No. 2 Senate Republican: There’s no difference between an FBI informant and spy http://hill.cm/E5E9po6
Narrator: But there was
Because words mean things and the difference in meaning is super important here 🙄

3:03 AM
I mean,
informant to the cops vs informant to typically some foreign entity

2 hours later…
4:45 AM
Necco Wafers: Gross, or actually the grossest?
Ivanka Trump to campaign for Nunes ahead of his reelection battle http://hill.cm/E2y1U5J

lmao we'll see how that turns out

@TimStone I read that whole report I am disgusted forever now

1:23 PM
@TimStone that should really be apart of gun legislation that the owner of the weapons has got a place to lock them away. and when their asshole of a kid takes the gun and shoots up a school the parents are also on the hook if it's found that they didn't secure the guns properly

Problem is that it's not a deterrent
No one is ever going to think "oh I better secure my guns in case my kid shoots up a school, don't want to be liable"
So unless you directly enforce it it won't happen
Considering they need to be stored in like an actual safe

@TimStone we do everything we can to protect the stupid from themselves when in the past the stupid would naturally wipe themselves out. even then they still find a way to be even more stupid and we still have to think of way to prevent that
@quartata well i was going to suggest that the house is inspected but i get the feeling that a group of people would be against any authority telling them how to store their guns or even going to their home and checking for that

@Memor-X that’s how it works in Germany

@MadScientist authority comes into a person's home and checks how they store their weapons?

@Memor-X this would be good but unlikely to happen anytime soon

1:35 PM
@Memor-X they can do unannounced checks of the gun safe and your registered guns

@MadScientist How do you think the average guncrazed American would respond to a government agent arriving unannounced to their house to inspect and possibly take away their guns?

@Nzall yeh, probably the difference between Germany and the US is that

just a few minor cultural differences

This was added in response to a school shooting nearly ten years ago

I'm envious at the thought of passing such legislation so quickly

1:40 PM
Here's the big issue with the USA: for over 200 years, the right of every civilian to have any weapon they please has been entrenched in the US Constitution. It's just as deeply entrenched as freedom of speech

not any weapon they please
we don't let them use anthrax I don't think

I'm talking about firearms
Biological warfare wasn't really a think in the 18th century

other than dead cows I suppose

@quartata or long reaching flame throwers
remember that Elon Musk's flame thrower could only be legal if the flame didn't reach so far
also i think RPG/Rocket Launchers.....i hope to god they aren't allowed those

Those aren't firearms, Nzall's point stands
I'm just being humorous

1:49 PM
@Nzall not quite as refined as 'modern' biological warfare... but, I mean... Smallpox blankets...

Yes, sadly, I had to call the cops on Miller about an hour ago. He was standing outside my home like a crazy person, in the middle of the street in the rain, filming my home. He saw me through a window and was smirking at me, like a clown in a horror movie. https://twitter.com/fitsnews/status/1000724694981595136
Uhhh, I mean she has a vested interest in painting him in a bad light but woah boy

4:19 PM
We have evil plans for the library board this week it's going to be so good

Amazing oval office leak: in front of Trump, staffer who took nasty shot at john mccain accuses Mercedes schlapp of leaking https://www.axios.com/oval-office-leak-kelly-sadler-mercedes-schlapp-trump-0b622aa7-6719-47f0-89eb-8d12008f7cd9.html?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=twsocialshare&utm_campaign=organic
(the short is that the vying for power within the WH largely consists of pointing fingers claiming someone's a leaker with no need to back it up and whoever is believed most wins)

8:41 PM
@TimStone love to hire the best people

1 hour later…
9:48 PM
@TimStone Since this is now A Thing on Twitter please note that this article is from 2014, and that the practices of ICE have and continue to be horrible

Wow how dare you attack Obama when Trump has been worse
Good thing these things have Definitely Changed

No it's the other way around that sharing the link was a conspiracy to shame Trump or something idk

I covered both bases look the pod save guy did a tweet about how actually those ACLU stats are unaccompanied children which is way different

Please refer to this Very Important Point for more (You do not need to refer to this point)
They did tweet at the same time but it doesn't actually mention anything about Trump or 2018 so I'm not really sure how ICE isn't actually still horrible

It's almost like the stated mission of ICE has been bad since 2003
And that it continues to operate is an atrocity perpetrated by three separate presidents

10:00 PM
I mean shame on apparently everyone for not bothering to notice until now but that delay seems not central to the actual issue
What with ICE still existing
The NYPD has fielded 334 threats of violence against schools since September, an average of two a day https://twitter.com/nypost/status/1000834529362358272

Amazing that Trump has abolished ice and this shit isn't definitely still happening 4 years after that article
Amazing that the child seat prison bus that has been circulating lately is a thing that has ever existed
Abolish, prosecute.

11:17 PM
30-year-old man ordered by judge to move out of his parents' home in upstate New York has been offered a job and a starting bonus by a restaurant chain. https://abcn.ws/2KVMeds
Of course

Wasn't he on Alex Jones?

Yes

Or was that a different 30-year old man living their parents' house?
I dunno if I have much ground to say anything given that I'm 26 and live with my parents.
But I do make enough money to rent my apartment if I wanted to, it's just cheaper to not pay rent.

Right, and presumably your parents would not have to forcibly evict you if it came to that
Because you're an adult

Plus, even when I get my own house, my parents would probably move in at some point.
Because that's an Asian thing.
So it'd be more efficient to just stay in this house, I guess.

11:57 PM
Executives of big U.S. companies suggest that the days of most people getting a pay raise are over, and that they also plan to reduce their work forces further. https://www.axios.com/broad-based-pay-rises-retraining-automation-executives-3e68d31c-51bc-4bde-a362-7ce12b039e7c.html?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=organic
Yeah this seems healthy and good
