Interesting... generally newly-married folks are pretty excited to show their wedding photos. Is there a reason that you don't want to show them, aside from "I don't want to show them"? — baldPrussian 18 secs ago

I'm a very private person. I didn't tell anyone I was getting married. I requested time off with a blanket "out of office" request and people are only finding out because I've changed my last name in visible places. I'm also very sensitive about my appearance. — friendly 2 mins ago

Hi @the_agile_scrum_guy, and welcome to IPS, the site for questions about behaviors people use to interact with others well! We often ask people to include something about what they've considered doing, and why they think that won't work. That way, answers can really help you with the behaviors you use to interact with others. First off, it would help us if you could assure us that you are 100% sure this neighbour has negative feelings towards you. Has she ever shown any kind of resentment towards you, that's not based on 'she has a different sign'? How sure are you she's stealing yours? — Tinkeringbell ♦ 2 mins ago

And lastly, I'm sorry for the barrage of comments. But whenever I see questions that ask to a rude thing politely (in this case, accusing someone of stealing), I ask a lot of questions because for this iste, it's good to be sure there's an actual problem. In this case, that means being sure the neighbor is actually stealing and feeling resentment towards you, instead of that being just a 'she might have done it' and 'she might feel negative towards Trump supporters', and being sure you're actually asking us for help with your behavior — Tinkeringbell ♦ 50 secs ago

Secondly, please include what you've considered trying, and why you think that won't work. Did you consider any other approaches than outright asking her to stop stealing your signs? Why did you discard those as not being an option? What previous interactions did you have that went wrong, or why are suspecting this one will go wrong? — Tinkeringbell ♦ 1 min ago

I think all of these things would be great if I wasn't working remotely. Because I am working remotely, the only thing I've have to do is drop an image file or a URL to a gallery into the chat. I don't have any wedding pictures on my work computer, so I can use that, but the difference between "sending pictures to my work computer" and "bringing pictures from home" is enough. I tried telling someone that I don't have any pictures available, but was met with "oh, but when you have them saved, let me know!" — friendly 35 secs ago
