@baldPrussian The issue I see here it that that overly saccharine "I would love to have one of your works but they are so lovely, I suppose I can't afford them." sounds pretty much how a CB would initiate communication and might put a dent into the artist's first impression, especially when they have had prior encounters with CBs. — Suthek 14 hours ago

Hey there! I know this is an old answer, but we now require answers here to be backed up by personal experience or external sources. So, could you edit to tell us about a similar situation you were in the past? Who was involved, what did you say and how did the other person react? — Ælis 17 hours ago

Hi Frank and welcome to IPS. I sympathize with situation, it sounds really frustrating. Currently your question is a bit too broad, though, to be a good fit for the QA format. I saw CaldeiraG submitted an edit to make it a bit more on topic. If you agree with it, you can accept the edit, or you can edit yourself. — Belle 43 mins ago

why not offer to take turns paying ? I don't like leaving a woman to pay, I was raised that way and I cannot easily negate that.I could accept taking turns, because it gives that feeling of being treated to something to each party in turn. I personally wouldn't care if my partner made more money than I do. He's likely to find out anyway, so why not be upfront, in a nice way. — bigbadmouse 53 secs ago

Hey there! You said that "all [this is] based on personal experience", can you tell us a little more about this? How was your situation similar to the one OP is facing? Who was involved, what did you said and how did the other person react? Please note that just saying "from my experience" isn't enough to be considered a valid back up. — Ælis 3 mins ago

In the case of passport you have a deadline. There are things that will always have a deadline. By picking up a date for holiday you agree to a deadline and, automatically, a moment when to start the thing that need to be done. Same with starting a job. I don't think it was a slavery so choosing a starting time for a job was her choice. Which pulled other "when to start" into existence. OP seems to be more of a person who want people to stick to their guns rather than planner. IF you say A and you know it means you have to say B in 30 seconds he expect it to follow. — SZCZERZO KŁY 35 secs ago

@SZCZERZOKŁY Ofcourse there is a deadline. What I meant was that in the plan you pick a time before the deadline, and commit to starting at that time. If that time arrives you are free to postpone it as long as you can pick a new specific time before the deadline where it will happen. If there is no such time you have to do it right now instead. I tried to specify this explicitely in my answer to prevent miscomunication like "you had 3 months to do it!" where there was no time specified in those 3 months when she committed to do it. — Imus 1 min ago

Following lmus question, does she talk like that towards you depending of the people around? If she talks like that with public is because she's not talking to you, but to them (she does not want to be associated to you, so she reminds them that). If she talks like that only when she's with Liz and you, then is possible that she's trying to set the hierarchy of the group. Maybe you can add more examples of her behavior. — Santiago 2 mins ago

I edited my questions to concise yet still has the relevant information that defines the problem at hand. Also, thanks for the input so far! This is my first time doing these sorts of things and it brings relief to me and my family that people do care on these sorts of things. Much love! Also, my grandmother IS 69 years old but kept the 70 as I later realized that "69" means something that may be outside of context to my problem yet may take precedence to it, and as such, may be inappropriate and vulgar to this forum. — Mundane Gelatine 38 secs ago
