We have recently discussed that it is better to let this room freeze since there was no activity for a long time.

But BAYMAX says that in about a month he is starting some course related to this topic and he might have quite a lot of questions. This might mean revival of the activity here.

Something similar happend in functional analysis chatroom (which was recently renamed to make the scope broader). If you look at the activity in the last few month, most of the activity was initiated by BAYMAX who was studying a text in functional analysis.

So I would suggest to keep this room open a bit longer - to see what happens in a month.

You have both indicated that you prefer discussions in the main chat room. But maybe it might be occasionally useful to have a separate room where you can continue if there are too many discussions in the main chatroom at the same time.

And even if the discussion is entirely in the main chatroom, it can be mentioned here together with a link. In this way somebody who is interested only in differential topology/geometry can notice that some discussion was going on without having to check the whole transcript of the main chatroom.

The only suggestion I'd have is that if we keep this room a bit longer, it should probably be renamed. (Perturbative said that the study group is discontinued.)

An alternative (which is probably better) would be letting this room freeze and use Geometry & Topology for the purposes I mentioned above:

This room has broader scope, so there is a bigger chance that it might have some non-negligible activity:

It would be nice if we continue the discussion in this chat room or geometry and topology room, one point i would like to mebtion if 8 am wrong i am sorry, that in a separate room there is usually no other topics to be discussed and i always wanted to bookmark a conversation which will benefit a user later in the same topic later or atleast benifit me later, anyway we must adjust with the potential users

So maybe I would suggest to keep this room a bit longer - just to make things less complicated.

There was almost no activity in this room since August. Since this room was here this long, it probably does not much harm if it stays two months longer.

And in January you will decide whether you will use this room, or Geometry & Topology, or main room will suffice.
