@T.Sar - And my oldest is a happily independent woman who has had to stand up to men's unwanted advances or disrespect herself, and done it firmly and without hesitation. My two younger ones seem headed the same direction.

@T.Sar - You are right that the attention is often the point of the way some men and women dress. But ogling, in its objectification and superficial treatment of a woman's beauty is not the kind of attention I want for my girls, and they have learned not to want it for themselves. Seems like the OP also assumed such attention was less than desirable.

@T.Sar - Too often it is such attention that I see ending up in other people's daughters ending up with unwanted teen pregnancies, or jerk boyfriends who only care about any pleasure (visual or physical) they can get from the girl.
