@Rarst perhaps a link to the composer site from queryposts/vice versa?

maybe, more fitting for rarst.net renovation, will enumerate my stuff better there

Havent you already got Hybrid Wing in a usable state?

nah, it's a mess. getting rid of subrepo madness in favor of composer and will have to probably recode half of it for WP 3.6 and BS 3
maybe will slap twig on it as well, if I get it finished soon

The punishment for using hipster tools: you never finish your projects

9:11 AM
huh? I like shipped a project yesterday

new community ad, vote up
@Wyck ehm, I didn't get that flag... what's "not an answer" about it?

@Rarst I see nothing
it's an empty post

ad blocker much? :)
actually breaks rules by not hosting image according to rules

@Rarst oh dur ya it's adblock

7:07 PM
btw on community ads - why we don't like wpbeginner so much? :)

7:29 PM
I guess most people around here are developers ... and for my taste they have too much marketing blah. :-)
"Syed Balkhi is the founder of WPBeginner. He is known for his aggressive marketing skills, creative designs, and expertise in SEO."

yeah, he is tad pushy, but doesn't really come off as bad dude... and got downvoted into oblivion

7:55 PM
That's true. Maybe there is some other reason, but I can't think of any.

8:09 PM
@Rarst why? Is it due to content / image ?
ok... carry on reading...

ehm? :)

8:21 PM
This chat is infected by latency and confusion.

8:37 PM
Anyone knowing a good js library for html5 based charts?

@s1lv3r Flotr2

Look's cool. Thank you. :-)

1 hour later…
9:44 PM
am I right that clam is pretty much useless on server? looks like memory hog

clamd? ... on a webserver it's used for email antivirus in most cases ... if you have no need for that you can safely disable it.

I just forward everything to gmail, so...

hmmm ... yeah then disable it. It's not like it's adding any security to the server itself or so (as long as you don't use a addon like ClamFS - which isn't used for a webserver in the most setups ...).

want to carve some memory to finally enable object cache and experiment with varnish maybe :)

Uh. Have to try Varnish out myself, too. But to many other projects in the moment. :-( What's your caching plugin? w3tc?

9:57 PM
nah, I am so done with that one. Super Cache at moment

Does that automatically purge the Varnish cache for you?

don't remember... I have bunch of bookmarks on varnish really need to just review and experiment

Yeah ... too many interesting technologies and too less time for a single man to try them all out. Using Varnish and implementing some ESI magic with it is also on my agenda. :-D

I would really like to rather experiment with nginx and kick apache to the curb, but no managed nginx at my host yet :)

You know ISPConfig?

10:02 PM
no

It's a webhosting panel (like Plesk or Confixx) ... one of the core developers is running a nginx only webhosting business ...

nah, you won't pry LiquidWeb out of my cold dead hands

Doing my own hosting anyway. ;-)
Unfortunately also still with Apache ... but atleast having nginx as a reverse proxy in front of Apache for static asset serving. :-P
Needing mod_rewrite for some legacy projects ... so no chance of getting rid of it. Without recoding everything into nginx rewrite syntax. :-(

rewrite compat is big litespeen feature and liquidweb does offer it, but one license is more than I pay for whole vps :)

Just wanted to look what a Litespeed license itself is costing. But they aren't even showing prices on their website - normally that's a bad sign meaning it's really expensive. :P

10:21 PM
hm, I remember wrong or they lowered it... 1 CPU core $35/month at liquidweb

Yeah, I guess they only sell retailer licenses.

they actually have free version now, but without tastiest parts of course

... and max 5 sites (vhosts). So really pretty useless.
You are also good at javascript?

no

Damn. I have got a really strange bug and just can't figure out. :(

11:11 PM
check the review button, all of a sudden 44 low quality posts

feeding frenzy!
unfortunately I've been up for 16 hours and feel like passing out instead :)
*18 (see, brain is clearly failing)

Not enough reputation, yet. :P

skip..skip..skip

11:24 PM
uh ... finally found the bug ... :-(
