@Randal'Thor we're not. We're discussing if they should be deleted.
But comparing your example to a two line answer dragging another franchise into a question, would it really hurt to just remove the latter? Yes, we may need examples of bad answers, but I'd rather not see bad answers outnumber the good ones.

In other words, there are good bad answers and just plain bad answers, the latter often bordering on being not an answer.

Amazingly bad drive-by answer; why is it not gone yet?
And another example of answers that should just be deleted.

Answers here answer the wrong question == not answers: scifi.stackexchange.com/q/105292/70236

@Gallifreyan agreed, flagged as such, although I wish there was something in the standard text (or perhaps another NaA close reason) that read "this attempts to answer a different question than what was asked".
@Randal'Thor how do you feel about that?

@SQB "Not reading the question" is what it is.

One flagged as NaA (the second one), two down voted.

@Gallifreyan This one is definitely NAA, I’d say.

I hope this guy gets tired of SFF at some point an leaves, otherwise we'll end up with a lot of answers we could've survived without.

It’s clearly meant to be a comment on the other answer, or (possibly) the question.
@Gallifreyan I’ll have a chat with them and explain our rules/quality standards/guidelines later.
Unless someone else does it first, naturally.
They’re basically going off of the reputation from a single question, and they only have one answer with a score greater than zero, so they’re probably not yet familiar with how people like answers to be written here.

@Adamant I've left a comment, but that was more aimed at getting to learn how to format a post.
Also, I'm not sure how useful screenshots of other websites are.
@Gallifreyan flagged as rude for "poopy croissant".

A: Why didn't the Hobbits get frostbite?

Medieval MichaelA note about the chainmail...you can't wear maille armor next to exposed skin or even light cloth for any length of time or it chafes. In the real medieval world, a thick padded coat called a Gambeson or Aketon was worn under maille armor. It is very heavy and is like a wool winter coat. It is t...

A: Why didn't the Hobbits get frostbite?

AgaraxVery cold air doesn't hold much moisture. A heavy snowfall typically occurs when the temperature is quite close to freezing (32 F / 0 C).

That's the entire answer.
That's not an answer.

@Gallifreyan waited for it to show up in review, then voted to close as "commentary on another post".

Oh, why the hell would anyone dispute my NAA on this one? scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/105292/…

Dunno, it has been deleted. Don't fret it.
