@BenI. When there's a question to which I have an answer I can be reasonably quick. Never going to be FGITW, and don't always watch for new Q even though 75% of waking time is at the kbd.
What I need, for many things, is a persistent notice rather than a toaster notice. A cup of coffee or a quick household task and I miss the notice.

@ScottRowe it's a good question, actually. With one of our groups here in Scotland we went through various plateaus. Each time we stagnated for a bit, and our eventual solution was to change leadership each time. So once I got a bit frustrated trying to get membership up over 300 and regular meetups over 30 I handed over to a guy with very different approach - under him it grew to 400-odd, and meetings were attracting between 50 and 100
And once that plateaued we handed over to a lady with a different style again, and growth has once more begun
@BenI. Sound Design has been flattish for a while, but then it is quite a niche, so I understand it

@RoryAlsop yeah, not sure whom I could turn it over to. When I said I have seen about 20 of the 400 members, I meant over the entire year I have had 20 "unique visitors". Usual attendance at my meetings is 1 or 2. If you have had 30 show up for a free lunch, I would be amazed, because that would not happen here.
Someone I know has been running a Meetup with 5 regular events a month for 15 years, and I usually just see the same 5 people. Supposedly 1400 people are "members" of his group. He says attendance has fallen off over the past year, no idea why.

wow - what topics do you have then? It obviously needs to be something of interest. And 5 a month is a lot - while we have a couple a month they are different groups, so some are for more technical folks, some for management, some for students (with free beer and pizza) etc
