@thesecretmaster @Buffy @GypsySpellweaver @ItamarG3, I want to redirect this person to a more appropriate SE. Any idea which one would be a fit? cseducators.stackexchange.com/questions/5368/…

@BenI. Software recs maybe? Could also ask the TL.

Actually, I was thinking that a re-write would make it OK here. The OP does mention students in the post. Perhaps if his intention were clearer. I read it as something like "what is a simple back-end" that students can grok so that they can write a front-end for it.
Maybe I'm stretching, tho.

@Buffy Possibly. I didn't even catch the "for student" in there on my first read.
That question needs cleaning badly.
Oh, it wasn't in there at first, that's why I didn't see it.

@BenI.
Oops. I think the Q could be good here. The edit shows the OP want's to use it for students rather than as a personal use, and API's are the rage.
It needs help to be good here. It also needs help to be acceptable on SoftRec as well. Different help of course.
My worry about the Q is that the OP may be putting the cart before the horse. I don't know that a "platform" is needed to teach API development or use, especially at the classroom level.
Worst part is that I'm not API-aware, so I've got no help to offer in an answer, improvement for the Q here, or for improvement for SoftRec. I'm not even 100% sure what the OP is talking about, let alone asking for.

@GypsySpellweaver He hasn't offered any guidance in his question, either.

There is a serious language barrier involved as well. The OP did edit it, and reply to your comment, however, so it seems there is the potential to fix it.

Today is my busy day (I teach 6 classes) so if anyone wants to take a crack at it, feel free.

@BenI. I sorta feel like it's a software recs question disguised as a csed question now. I think the folks on software recs might be able to better answer this question than we would.

6:03 PM
@thesecretmaster I 100% agree that they'd be better qualified, and we should make that recommendation. If OP still feels it's a csed question, then I would take them at their word, and help OP edit.

@thesecretmaster The problem with sending the OP to SoftRec is that the Q will still need a lot of work to be accepted there. Don't recall all their requirements, but they need parameters and objectives to be able to help with a good recommendation.

@GypsySpellweaver That's why I'm not just transferring the question. I figure OP can have a fresh start, and that that community is better poised to help OP edit to their spec.

I'm down with that.
If you know any members (or mods) there, might help them if they had a heads-up
