I've been running a code golf competition for years. Same output required, but I tell them the best score achieved so far. I am always so impressed by the ingenuity of my kids.

I was beat (finally!) last year, but the (new) best score was just absolutely trounced.

Going from 520 to 480 characters is no joke!
