Hi peeps. I got a flight from Lima to Amsterdam, in a week and a bit time. Of course it is cancelled, I took the same route a bit earlier on a different ticket. I got an e-mail encouraging me to get a voucher. Is there any hope I can get a full refund?

@Bernhard What does air europa say about it? Unfortunately I have seen so much variance in airline refund-related behaviour lately that it is hard for anyone else than them to answer this for you.

they're all going bankrupt and all those vouchers will turn into monopoly money

@JonathanReez, the more people do a charge back, the more likely they go bankrupt.

the government will save some of them, that's the only hope they have

@JoErNanO It's a bit mixed and confusing. They sent me an e-mail with the link to request a voucher. But the site also mentions that refunds are possible. But that is a bit hidden to request

@JonathanReez Yep, this is going to take a while. I am not expecting to get anything out of the voucher. Is this chargeback really going to work? Aren't they going to try and get the money from me anyway?

I agree with @JonathanReez that most companies will not survive and prices for flights will skyrocket at some point (which is a good thing also, it was way too cheap). But the airplanes will still be there. Also most likely we will hear bankruptcy of Boeing soon. They were already close to die without any order

@Bernhard they don't have the legal right to your money in accordance to EU law. No flight = refund

And I paid for the same flight twice anyway, so no feelings of guilt

don't give them a single penny. We'll be paying them through our taxes anyway later on

hopefully their shareholders won't get any bailout money

and the governments will instead buy the airlines

I also cancelled my travel insurance

Not going to travel anytime soon
