Okay, so let's settle it: theme is "animals interacting with humans or human-made objects", with the restriction that photos of animals that are owned by you or someone you know personally aren't allowed.

I think own animals should be allowed, those of friends for certain. Lets exclude cats/dogs/usual pets in normal pet situations. But include hand reared wild animals.
If you exclude animals owned by OP or friends you exclude a lot of good photos.

Okay, I think here's a good rough draft. Theme: animals, interacting with humans or human-made objects, pets and zoo animals disallowed.
No need to impose too many restrictions; submissions that go against the spirit will likely lose the contest anyway.

I just had an idea for a new photo competition: "Places/buildings/scenes that no longer exist". For example, a photo of Notre Dame before the fire, or en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddhas_of_Bamyan, or a photo of a valley before a dam was built.

yeah, I was just thinking about Notre Dame and the idea came to me. Not necessarily the best example, but still could be the best photo, who knows :)
I also have a couple of bounties expiring shortly that don't seem to have provoked any activity.
