Q: How realistic is the use of red yarn hub and spokes in crime television shows

Gayot FowI refer to a shot that occurs quite often in crime shows... There is the victim at the hub and spokes of red yarn that connect the suspects. How realistic is this in modern detective work? I have read these articles: Decoding The Detective's 'Crazy Wall' Do detectives really pin a bunch of ...

Call for experts over in the Movie TSE!

@GayotFow, I worked in the hand but used the method as on the board. You can pin yours down, on the point of connection.
As your jar will not be the same as mine, nor your string will be the same, you will have to work out your own length.
It is how I start the series of small bottles.

@Willeke This photo gives me such a great inspiration. I have a possible commission for a kill switch for a Harley Davidson Ultra Limited, that weave might be perfect. Any ideas are appreciated!

Try it as a flat bit first, not going round on your first try.

@Willeke indeed, but I will likely have to fashion some sort of specialised jig. Are you using 2mm cord here?

This is oval cord. 3 to 4 mm across.
No jig needed, if you have a board you can pin into. A cork tablemat will work well. (The kind that you put under your hot pans.)
For round work you can use pipe isolation, that people put round the hot water pipes.

where did you find 4mm?

A Dutch company called Schouten, which does not do internet, which does not do English and has problems with delivering ordered colours as they have too much demand.
I have heard good reviews on paracord.nl, I have never even been to their site but they seem to have a wide range in sizes.
But then, if you come to one of our meetings, we might be able to get you some of Schouten's stock, as long as we know for sure in advance.

I just got 35kg of paracord from an american firm, it's great to get it bulk wholesale

10:17 AM
I do not need 35 kg of cord, I rather have small amounts of varied colours and sizes, but yes, I do know the feeling of having a limitless stock in the house.

Q: Would an object between 7.5 inched to 8 inches be prohibited as carry on?

TranscendentI have a Karma Grip for my GoPro and it will be the first time I'm traveling with that in my bag. I usually remove it's head so it would fit better in my bag and I end up with an 8 inches grip (a plastic thing similar to a flashlight) on one side of my bag. The grip is around 7.8 inches and it ex...
