@orthocresol chemistry.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/report suspicious tag created by new user; please delete it in case it is not legit use (i don't know ir spectroscopy)
(oh, now I wonder if I even needed to ping a mod for this specifically or not)

@orthocresol I accidentally VTCedDupe it first; requesting hammer-delete as you said today

Q: Micelle formation

ULTIMATEGAMER07When micelles are formed... The movement of the molecules gets restricted so shouldn't it result in a decrease in entropy? But it is said that increase in entropy is the driving force behind micelle formation and that's what makes it spontaneous

dupes are not all that bad... they act as signposts to the correct question.

hmm all right

we're talking more of overly specific / unhelpful questions with poor answers
what's with the number of NAAs...

yeah there's suddenly too many of them

so something like this, I find to be useless

Q: Finding the percentage yield when Al reacted with excess O2

HaniWhen $8.70\:\mathrm{g}$ of $\ce{Al}$ is reacted with excess $\ce{O2}$, $12.8\:\mathrm{g}$ of $\ce{Al2O3}$ is obtained. What was the percentage yield? Here is the balanced equation: $$\ce{4Al + 3O2 -> 2Al2O3}$$

of course it's sorta subjective, which is why we generally want at least a couple of people to agree on deleting stuff
or something like this, where it's two questions in one, and the answers are just hints

Q: Questions on stoichiometric calculations

Fozzy767I am stuck on two problems dealing with reactants and products. Here are the two problems: Calculate the mass of water produced when 4.27g of butane reacts with excess oxygen. Calculate the mass of butane needed to produce 60.8g of carbon dioxide.

hmmm I understand what you're saying
those are poor questions which aren't likely to help future visitors
and that too very very poor

12:53 PM
yup pretty much
so it's easier to delete them instead of tidying them up
also these aren't the best examples of good content on the site so I am all for deleting them

yup, that seems to be the best way

that dupe you mentioned isn't exactly wonderful content either, but conventional SE wisdom states that dupes are... good, actually

yeah but I think exact dupes with poorer content should be deleted
that poorer question is unlikely to be found by google either

arguable... I sit on the fence, but sitting on the fence means not doing anything, so I'm not doing anything about that one now

51 views on the dupe vs 3318 views for the original
nvm though, fence seems a good position for dupes anyway

@orthocresol If instead of pining you here, do I flag such poor, old questions for moderator intervention, with custom message "poor question; won't help future visitors; please delete"
is that ok? (clarification: i will only flag like this when I come across such questions; I won't specifically go hunting for such poor, old questions just to inflate my flag count and use up all the flags in a day)

@GaurangTandon no please just use this room, you don't need to ping anybody in particular
well... not many people here nowadays to look at question deletion... penta, Martin, and myself are the usual ones
we will probably see them (eventually) if you post them

alright i'll try
