@DavidPostill, congrats. BTW, you seem to be conspicuously absent relative to your previous level of activity. Are you resting on your laurels now that you won, or are you busy getting up to speed on mod stuff? :-)

@music2myear, I agree with your assessment. Both David and Ben had such a dominating presence on the site for over two years that it was hard for other people to compete. I'm a little surprised at what seems like a low voting percentage. People might have thought the results were a foregone conclusion, or that all of the leading people were qualified enough that one of them would obviously win and it was safe regardless of who it was.

Part of the quiet atmosphere may have also been that the candidates had a realistic understanding of the job. It isn't a bed of roses. Like they say about the job of US president, anybody who wants the job should be automatically disqualified on the basis that they must be nuts. Everybody who volunteered themselves should really be commended. And all of the people who didn't win can breathe a sigh of relief that David is the one stuck with the job.
