Q: Verifying a Superior Integration Method for Step Functions

The Great DuckI should note that this is an integration algorithm and therefore intermediate steps DO appear to be unjustified. The purpose of this question is to justify or reject this algorithm as always giving correct solutions. Suppose we have some piecewise continuous function $f$ and that it can be writ...

I altered the original algorithm and replaced it with my rewrite from my paper
I also added proper context.

@TheGreatDuck: I've moved your messages here as this is the best place for random analysis related stuff. Actually I don't know why you need to put such a high bounty; the attention you get from smaller bounties is nearly the same, and you can offer more small bounties using the same 500 rep.

@user21820 because someone who answers that question fully deserves 500 rep. To be more precise the case that my answer (almost) proves is just the case when left and right limits exist and such. The other case might require things that are beyond our knowledge base. Certainly beyond mine.

@TheGreatDuck I understand that, but you don't have to take such a big risk. If your initial bounty results in you getting an answer that you really feel deserves more reward, you could offer a second bounty for that express purpose (one of the stated answers is exemplary). Anyway it's just my advice if you do not want to waste your bounties in the future.

@user21820 fair enough. I was inviting you to take a crack at it. I will have that rep made back in a couple weeks.
