on this history: Do we really want to polish incomplete questions ?

@Tensibai We'll never know whether the user might come back and edit it to make it on-topic. Till then, let the community do it's work.

10:35 AM
@Tensibai I started the conversation with the user about improving the question, I think it shows willingness to collaborate even if it ends up getting closed and deleted eventually we tried.

I'd argue the community should let it die in peace if the OP doesn't add something to it :)
@RichardSlater OP comment doesn't bring much more, I can get he/she have no clue how to edit, but I'd prefer ´cosmetic' edits to happen once the question is worthy. My 2 cts obviously
what I mean is that question has been bumped 3 times for minor edits where it is not more answerable than before, It would have be better for it those bumps be done later IMHO
Btw I did add an answer on the meta Q about ´top contributors' and would be interested by feedback on it
Form and content, I hope I stayed not rude, but this sounds like a rant of someone not able to provide answers to me and I can have let slip bad formulations

@Tensibai thanks, I will have a look in a bit.

Thanks @RichardSlater :)

@Tensibai deleting the answer also means deleting the corresponding rep, reducing "the collective site rep wealth". Leaving the asnwer and passing a bounty to someone else just re-distributes the answer's rep but maintains the collective site rep, which is good for the site graduation goals.

We may need to start to work on the elevator pitch for the site also, there's a bunch of material to digest to get to something great... I'd like to try a google doc for preparing this questions with mods and active people here, good or bad idea ?
@DanCornilescu didn't though about this solution, thanks
For the question I'm talking about above, should be a meta question, with no proposition, one listing the different meta Q about the subject and concerns raised so far. I don't feel it's a one man work and it should be reviewed and discussed before posting to get the better answers I think

I agree, as to whether it is a (ComunityWiki?) Meta Post or Google Doc I don't think it matters, maybe a Meta Post would seem more inclusive?

I mean to prepare the meta post, to avoid loosing people with a wrong wording at first revision
The idea is to prepare the meta post asking for the elevator pitch in the best possible way

11:23 AM
Oh I see, I would suggest preparing it amongst the moderators in the first instance and then posting it in Meta.

11:58 AM
I was thinking about preparing it with the most actives peoples in this chat room also, was the root of my question here, good or bad idea :)

I suggest for incluseiveness prepare it with the moderators and then roll it out to everyone else, me included... my 2 cents.
It's not that I don't appreciate being included in the "actives", however I want to avoid the perception of a clique.

Well, the unfortunate fact is that most people don't care about meta
So you can't help but end up with the most active users guiding the meta policy... because no-one else turns up and participates

Gathered points on meta.se ... o_O This network will end up impacting me too much
@Aurora0001 Indeed, I just wish to avoid forgetting a point when writing the question on meta, I know not anyone will come read it and share they idea, but at least it should prevent being received as a biased one driving toward a predefined idea

Q: Where is the best location for custom Ansible config directory?

LamarSo lately I've been pivoting towards DevOps, and today I am looking for best practice in this scenario. I know that it isn't ideal to run test on the Jenkins master node, but for this scenario I install Ansible and Jenkins in the same instance. GOAL Deploy code from Jenkins Pipeline (deploy s...

This in my opinion is not an acceptable question. There is no statement of problem, just a description of solution and call for opinion.

Even if the process is debatable, asking for advices on how to launch ansible from a jenkins jobs doesn't sounds that bad. The day was long so I'm unsure I get it right, I'll refrain for now and see tomorow (sorry, not really a position, just my thoughts as is)
I agree the format is hardly readable btw

'Best practices' are always difficult to answer

Yep, I'm very unsure between too broad and unclear in fact
Gone this time, Good evening

too broad, a bit opinion-based, unclear... take your pick
I think there is a good question buried in there
Just needs some careful editing, I think

This is essentially equivalent to saying: " ... so I took a train. Is it the best thing I could have done?" "Where did you want to go?" "I don't know... just want to talk about trains."
He is not asking about technical problem of putting the solution together, but about is this a good solution. So if you want to say if the solution is good, you need to know what problem it solves, otherwise it calls for speculation as everyone will imagine different problem and answer a different question.

Right, I finally finished adding Tag Wiki pages for all of the first page. I'll try and keep an eye on it as other tags bubble up.
