Posting a dummy post to keep the room from getting frozen. In case it is useful in the future. (It was frozen a few times in the past.)

Fairly new to studying philosophy of science. Seeing as scientific realism (of its various kinds) is an extremely popular (not sure if it's the most popular) position, how do the scientific realists in this chat approach the problems of underdetermination and pessimistic induction? I have heard that a structural realist stance is supposed to offer some support in this way whilst still making sense of scientific predictive and instrumental successes.
How does it solve this and where can I read in more detail (like a book) about the structural realist position?
