@Joe, are subjective community-wiki-type questions being closed on this site permanently or just for the private-beta stage?

I personally don't see the problem with the subjective: "who are the most influential living philosophers" question that just got closed

I see this site as somewhere in between programmers and stackoverflow

it was recommended in a thread on philosophy.SE meta, that we make an event to discuss the direction and moderation of the philosophy site.

I would like to post a thread on meta to discuss this event, but I don't think I have the permissions to make the event

Sorry… I was off reading the latest. My understanding is that in order for events to get announced, they have to be scheduled by a mod—so, when do you want the event to happen?
