@flawr Have you ever heard of The Algorithm? It's basically Computer-Science-Core
Also, this joke from the comments was gold:
> What tuning do they play in?
> Drop C++

@DJMcMayhem haha:)
an antipole to mathrock? :)
I have to admit that I'm not very into either of those from what I've heard up to now

@DJMcMayhem That band and song name immediately took me in

^ regarding changes in chrome affecting ad blockers

@flawr Bah. Maybe it's time to set up a PiHole.

somewhat ambiguous name :)
but seems like a great project

@Quintec All of their song names are like that
> "boot"
"floating point"
"pointers"
"brute force"
"userspace"
"shellcode"
"hex"
"deadlock"
"rootkit"
"trojans (hard mode)"

The gist of Pi Hole is to intercept requests at the router that are heading out to ad servers and block them there.

really cool
apparently only the DNS traffic will go through the PiHole: discourse.pi-hole.net/t/will-pi-hole-slow-down-my-network/2048

Yeah. It's supposed to end up blocking ads on everything that serves them, including mobile devices and smart TVs.

(alternatively: firefox with ublock origin, disconnect or privacy badger, and if you want to put in the effort: noscript)

@El'endiaStarman Oooh, that sounds really nice

@El'endiaStarman you know I haven't really ever had a TV so recently I was a little bit surprized to learn about smart tvs. (just because I never thought about the development in this part)

@flawr It's pretty much impossible to get a non-smart TV. Well, at least, you're not gonna find them at Walmart.

A few years ago someone showed me these dedicated little computers you could connect to your tv for accessing e.g. youtube or a harddrive which now seem to be completely obsolete.
