This, so much this. Also headlights that turn off when the turn signal is on. That's even dumber.

Headlights that turn off when the turn signal is on??
I don't think I've ever seen that. That sounds horrid.

Yep. They seem very new (and they're LED headlights which I also very much dislike).

I have seen LED turn signals that are like progress bars, which I find distracting
I think the lower right one in the thumbnail is like that?

@quartata The thumbnail shows the third brake light, but I have seen those animated turn signals as well.

Oh yeah didn't look closely

Turns out, LED daylight running lights turn off when turning to avoid obscuring the turn signal.

I'll need to pay more attention then...
I'm sure I've seen one if it's common to all cars with LED lights
Hopefully I don't get nerd sniped checking out everyone's headlights

@quartata I only started seeing them within the last couple of years, I think.
> When I got my Model S, they did the same thing, the DRL's turned off on the side that the turn signal was flashing. Thought It looked crappy, even had people stop me saying my DRL was acting Flaky. Apparently enough people complained about it, where in a Over the air software update, Tesla changed the behavior so that now instead of turn off, it just dims the DRL by about 50%. Looks much better now. Cant stand when it turned off.

I wonder if the problem here is designers using the cars they design (if that) and not experiencing them when driven by someone else.
