So, if I go full-tilt and answer basic calc questions for the reps, how long until I earn a gold badge, thus earning the right to unilaterally delete all the bad questions that I answer to get the badge?
@SimplyBeautifulArt It is so irritating how many people are trying to solve the collatz conjecture in the same way one might try to fly by jumping off a cliff.
I'm not sure if the benefits of the Millenium Prize Problems outweighs the nonsense that cranks crank out. The only problem solved so far didn't even have the prize money given to the mathematician who solved it.
@XanderHenderson That's a good one! Cough cough...
I've seen users get that "reason" for serial downvoting, and also for having a sock-puppet that interacts with one's account, meaning, one account asks, the other answers, double the number of allotted votes each day, or one account upvoting the other account. It could have been any of the above.
@SimplyBeautifulArt Yeah. Another user Young was suspended as well this week. Originally at more than 3k rep, mainly from all PSQ questions most of which had excessively high upvote counts. You'll probably recognize the name, as his questions have progressively addressed here in CRUDE for a few months.
Ugh! Changing the text of a post from 1 to $1$ is no improvement!
And there is another user that seems to be searching for common misspellings and editing them en masse. Which, I suppose, is an admirable long-term thing to do, but it bumps a bunch of old questions which might better simply be deleted.
and here for example; there is quite a lot wrong with that question; fixing the spelling of a couple of words does nothing to actually improve the question
@XanderHenderson You hit on one of my current pet peeves. I've noticed a grammarian lately, who seems to search for all posts using the word "its", and then proceeds to one by one, edit any post that has even only one occurrence of using "its" instead of "it's".
