@shredalert I'm helping with SBA's calculus thing (starting in a few weeks when I get back from holiday), so figured I may as well stick my head in here to see what life in like in SBA's realm...
@shredalert I'm actually a physicist, so not in the same way as a mathematician :P I figured that it would be useful to gain some experience of teaching in something relatively simple [read: that I can do] before/while I start helping out in undergrad problem classes. Also, I'm hoping that I can be some use :P
1) physical principles and problems 2) conversion to mathematical abstractions and using logical reasoning 3) reinterpreting abstract developments back in physics
around 1900 you had people run off with step 2 and forget about 3 (pure mathematicians cough cough)
