@SimplyBeautifulArt Hello.
There was really little activity here today.
@SimplyBeautifulArt Where arrrrrrreeeeeee you?
15:22
@S.C.B. What?
@S.C.B. AGH FUDGE YOU BEAT ME
I missed you yesterday.

A: $\lim_{x\to2}\frac{\sqrt{1+\sqrt{x+2}-\sqrt3}}{x-2}$

S.C.B.Note that $$\lim_{x\to2}\frac{\sqrt{1+\sqrt{x+2}-\sqrt3}}{x-2}$$ The deonominator goes to zero, but the numerator goes to $\sqrt{3-\sqrt{3}}$. The limit does not exist.

Oh.
I had given others a bit of time to answer on that one, I had thought.
15:24
Well, you need rep more than me
@A.Sh Hello and welcome to my realm!
@S.C.B. I think I found an upper bound to my number
at least, my current number :-)
@VikrantDesai Hello and welcome to my realm!

Really.
Hello @SimplyBeautifulArt :) I haven't used 'chats' option before.
What does one directional limit mean in English?
@VikrantDesai As say many
12
Q: Could someone tell me how large this number is?

Simply Beautiful ArtContext: If you guys didn't know, I'm running a nice little contest to see who can program the largest number. More specific rules if you are interested may be found in my chat room (click here to join). If you are entering, do note that I am accepting entries for quite a while (ignore all the ...

@S.C.B. One dimensional limit?
I honestly don't know
See rbm's comment on my answer

On stack exchange. Anyways how can I get going here? I came to this chat from a this meta post >> meta.math.stackexchange.com/questions/25878/….
@VikrantDesai Oh, cool
Yeah, my chat room is the second most popular chat room on MSE
despite being somewhat private
@SimplyBeautifulArt That's awesome. :) Any specific topics of Mathematics that should only be discussed in this chat room?
@VikrantDesai Nope
I am hosting a coding contest if you are interested
It's super basic, no experience necessary (just ask @S.C.B.)
@VikrantDesai Basically, try to code the largest number you could
Okay thanks. I see. I don't have much knowledge about it. :/
@VikrantDesai Large numbers or coding?
15:36
The broad areas in Mathematics that I'm familiar with are Topology, Analysis and Algebra.
To answer your question. Both
Click that link and see if you can understand it
Small modification. Can you figure out what a**b does?
Okay buddy.
@VikrantDesai Anyways, we also do lots of other stuff here
@SimplyBeautifulArt Yeah. Can we do that other stuff when this coding is done?
Random chats about stuff
15:40
@SimplyBeautifulArt I did not understand both the links.
@S.C.B. What other stuff?
Like contour integration. And sequences and series.
Oh, right
@VikrantDesai Did you understand the first link?
What I understood is f is a relation between x and y.
Well...whatever
@S.C.B. :|
Wait, didn't I try to teach you contour integration?
15:42
:| means what exactly?
:|
A face
Straight expressionless face
So |: is the B face?
I'd like more problems.
I guess
Here's a similar problem for contour integration:
$$\int_0^\infty\frac{x^s}{(1+x^2)^3}\ dx$$
@SimplyBeautifulArt I figured it out. x * y is multiplication and x**y is x^y.
ugh, stupid things
15:45
:D
On same time. Great.
@VikrantDesai So what about... this thing?
@S.C.B. What do you think about solving that integral without contour integration?
Probably involves the Beta function then.
@S.C.B. It's actually the integral you get when you take the two Gamma functions and multiply them together
cough it proves the Gamma function's reflection formula
15:47
OK.
@S.C.B. My hint is that you are to use the Pacman/Keyhole contour
@SimplyBeautifulArt. Stumped! Anyways I will be happy talking about other areas more as I mentioned above.
@VikrantDesai :P I'm not familiar with those, so you'll have to find someone else.
Can you tell me the areas that you are familiar with?
15:50
@VikrantDesai I can do some analysis though
Analysis, special functions, Googology (not sure if that should count)
:P
You are discussing contour integration. It means you know both complex and real analysis at graduate level.
@VikrantDesai Yeah. Sadly, I'm in junior year of high school
and I don't know said subjects in and out
@SimplyBeautifulArt Wow. That's really great. ;) Respect.
Connectedness property? Can I share some problem?
15:53
Sure?
I don't know what "connectedness property" means, but I think I do
Okay here you go. Take the annulus $U$, $1 \lt r \lt 2$ in $\Bbb R$. Let $p,q$ be arbitrary points of the annulus. Show that there exists a continuous map $f:[0,1] \to U$ such that $f(0)=p$ and $f(1)=q$. and such that $f$ is differentiable on $(0,1)$.
Nope, I can't do
I don't understand what you said XD
(See what I mean by "I don't know said subjects in and out"?)
No problems.
I saw your profile. It's cool.
You'll get to know these concepts soon. ;)
16:15
@VikrantDesai What does map mean in English Terminology? (asking about the one that seems the easiest).
16:31
Well, I am not native English Speaker. But Map = Function.
Yeah, it's like a transformation... linear map = linear transformation.

1 hour later…
17:48
@VikrantDesai I'm not actually learning complex analysis
18:07
Okay.

4 hours later…
22:03
@user21820 If you go doing something like Rayo's function, I'm gonna slap you.
