I'm confused by the use of かける in the sentence :
雑誌の占いコーナーを読んでいたら、「日本人は占いが好きです」と、外国人の友達が話しかけてきた。
I thought かける was used to express an activity on going, which gets interrupted by something else. eg 話してかけて、雨がふりました。（it started raining whilst I was talking).

@FelipeOliveira if I saw someone with picturesque tattoo I'd wonder if he or she were a mafia member but with just several characters or symbols I'd only think it's their fashion
@broccoliforest Thank you for answering, that's for sure. There's a set pattern of tattoes that are related to the mafia, right? Oddly, here in Brazil lot's of people get these tattoes because they "like" japanese culture, since those tattooes usually have dragons, samurais and so on. I don't have these kinds of tattoes so I guess it's not that bad
