At least google translate is consistent, it translates キレイ好き to schöne Liebe (German) hermosa amor (Spanish) 美麗的愛情 (Chinese) I wonder how that works. It wouldn't be doing something like Jap->English->(German/Chinese/Spanish)?
On the mobile site, furigana aren't rendered at all, ie. some posts look like 漠然{ばくぜん}と感{かん}じられる事{こと}を表{あらわ}す語{ご}, which can be rather hard to read even for shorter sentences. Is this fixable? Should this be posted as a feature request?

@blutorange Feature request is probably the best way to go about it, but we might need to optimize the furigana script a bit if we're going to run it on mobile browsers

(I don't see any reason why the rendering couldn't be done server-side, but I'm not sure how likely that is to happen)
@snailboat At least on my Galaxy S3 I'm not encountering any performance issues when switching to the desktop version. Idk how common phones with lower specs are though. (mobile site is easier to navigate)

- English: Episode 78 - Chinese: 78集 (both trad. and simp.) - Korean: 안녕 사랑하는 사람 (idk Korean, but if you back translate this doesn't mean ep 78) - German: Episode 78 - Spanish: Episodio 78
It produces "...78" for most other languages. So it seems google might have analyzed some Japanese-Korean corpora.
@blutorange Theoretically, the script should work on the mobile site as well
although it's getting pretty slow, so I might need to speed things up a bit
I've asked for it to be added to the mobile site before, but they haven't done it.
I'm not sure why, but I didn't want to sound like I'm nagging too much, I figured they have their reasons, like they don't want the extra maintenance or something(?)
opening a thread on meta might be the best option
I really need to make the Furigana engine only process elements which haven't been processed before
BTW, I'm currently running a version of the script which has the option of making "tabs" for translations as an experiment

adding a "Japanese is OK" thing might be too controversial given the variety of responses at meta.japanese.stackexchange.com/questions/1318, but I think there was reasonable consensus to allow bilingual posts

In English, we often say "thank you" as a phatic expression to raise the level of politeness, when we don't really intend to thank anyone

In Japanese, you can raise the politeness level in a culturally appropriate way with a phrase like よろしくお願いします (or whichever variation is appropriate in context)
