Still can't get one to buy

Yeah, I'm not sure why but I can read english kindle books on my computer, but .co.jp doesn't even have a "buy now" button

for me anyway

You can download PDFs of some light novels from Jコミ (j-comi.jp) and if you're willing to plow through the amateur stuff in search of the few available gems, there's pdfnovels.net . The difficulty of buying Japanese e-books from overseas is probably for the best as far as my bank account is concerned...

hey, so dumb silly question I just want to run past someone

verb + ようす is directly translated "the state of [verb]ing"?

例えば

くるようすはない = hasn't come

I'm making an educated guess that this ようす is 様子

This all makes sense to me, but that's not really saying much! haha!

In other news it feels great to be hitting the books again...did you know you can just go to a public library and plop at a desk with all your books?

@silvermaple I used to watch Dr Who when I was growing up in the 70s; it was famous for making children hide behind the sofa with fear

We don't get the new ones here in Japan but the clips I have seen they look good. Towards the end of old series (it began in the 60s, Tom Baker was #4 coming after Jon Pertwee) I remember people noticing the cheap nature of the sets but with modern technology it must be good.

Yeah, I figured I'm going to watch the modern ones then the classic ones

I started with Matt Smith, then went back to Eccleson, am on Tenent now...sort of out of order, but I plan on going 1->8 for classic
