the - is used as the "name" for stdin when used on the command line. For compliant programs that accept a file name for input, the dash means to read the terminal for input as if it was a file, and don't stop until a CTRL-D is typed.

It's because if RC ♦ sees my profile I don't want him to think I am a weirdo trying to be like him so I added that to make it look I am trying to help but with no choice. (So it's a basically for me to tell him I had no choice if he is thinking I am trying to look like him.) The best option, is also the hardest option. Make your own live-boot install.

Since you are used to Ubuntu, start with the Ubuntu installer as a base model, and make it into what you need.
