@Helmar Yes. Theoretically, with the number of committers there were, we should have a bit more activity than this, but of course, not everyone follows through with commitments, unfortunately.

I'm going to try to fulfill the commitment even though I didn't actually commit...

@anonymous2 Yeah, I don't have the numbers, but the not already active SE people don't get an SE ping but an email. Not everybody checks emails daily.

Not sure how area51 counts site users. It says 237 committed and site stats say 274 total users.

Of course it's possible those are automatically generated from the commitments and do not represent logins

Unfortunately, I have very little expertise, so my involvement on this site risks taking more of a moderator approach. Not necessarily as a moderator, just more in the line of reviewing, closing, re-opening, commenting, checking potentially tense situations, etc...

I didn't realise that you're not supposed to be able to get into a private beta without having committed. Oops.

Weird, because I followed the proposal (was interested) and they gave me notice when the private beta started. Had no issues setting up an account.

But when I came by with another account on which I hadn't followed, I was unable to sign up. Huh. :)

I guess they figure if you have applied yourself enough to follow and you actually notice the little notice in your inbox, they won't prevent you from joining.
