I've been thinking of writing one about the Planeswalker redirection rule, but it's probably going to be either directly answered by the leaked FAQ, or painful to answer
Something like "What cards are functionally impacted by that rule change?" like I did with that Doubling Season rule change would be useful, but the list will also be enormous and probably hard to find
It probably depends on whether you include cards like Leyline of Sanctity and Heroic Intervention, because they are indirectly affected

I haven't actually read it yet, but if it's how it sounds... not necessarily a bad thing to end up with the FAQ quoted or paraphrased here, it'll at least end up as a duplicate closure target a lot. Might be able to supplement with a couple interesting examples if it doesn't cover them, maybe a bit of "how did this work before 2018".

Yeah, that's the other option, just having a general "What's happening with this Planeswalker redirection change?"
One big thing is that this is going to end up like the great creature type update, where you kind of just have to know "If the card does damage and was printed before April 2018, there's a good chance that it has errata", except maybe worse because there can be cards printed after this with literally exactly the same text as the printed text of existing cards, but different functionality
Maybe it would be good to have two questions, one about the rule changes and one about the card changes.

Someone needs to make an app for scanning cards that just pops up the oracle text. I know the scanning bit exists, but I've only seen it in apps meant for collection scanning type things.

would be nice to have some sort of version control thing for oracle text
the ability to step back through different errata changes could be useful
You could probably get close just by looking at each different printed text though

@Cascabel My mom works in document conversion. They convert huge amounts of documents into digital formats via scanning. We've had a few conversations about working together to create a MTG card scanning app so you could keep inventory just by scanning your collection, but the idea hasn't really taken off yet.
I know they have apps that do this already, but they are slow and can't handle bulk collections, multiple cards, etc.
I went to look at the Gatherer for the Oracle text and it's in a div with id #value so I guess you could get the text from there
Actually, it might be more ethical to just take the user straight to the Gatherer

@Rainbolt delver lens is fast enough for what I was talking about, and I've used it to scan a card a second once I had them all laid out.
I dunno if that's still too slow for collection scanning for your purposes, but it's definitely faster than typing a name on a phone that doesn't think any of it is spelled correctly.
(and it does know Oracle text, dunno if directly from Gatherer or from some preexisting cleaned up data source - far as I know this isn't an ethical issue)
