@IsaacMoses I admit that my reaction to that badge notification was "wait, I did what?". I figured this must happen regularly and was even more puzzled to see that there was only one. So -- cool! But mysterious!

@MonicaCellio I think it may be due to this comment, if cross-site links count for these badges.

@IsaacMoses it has to be; I don't remember sharing it elsewhere, and Workplace gets a lot of traffic.

@IsaacMoses Cross site links don't count, but people who use special browsers or such to avoid tracking and such can (unintentionally) trick SE into not realizing it's an intraSE link. With enough volume that happens enough to get the badge. (Technical details above are clearly super precise.)

@DoubleAA I've heard the "cross-site links don't work" claim too, but I also have some Announcer badges to meta posts that were only linked from main-site questions ("this question is being discussed on meta" links, I mean). Either lots of people are somehow bypassing this or the restriction is tighter, like links from the same site don't count.
