Probably cognate with "stem". ^^@IsaacMoses

@magicker72 Ah, thanks.
@magicker72 Most likely, yes, considering that German stammt and Dutch stamt are cognate to (and translate as) English stems (the verb).

@IsaacMoses sounds like an interesting talk. If you choose to write it up, please share it here (It sounds like the talk may be converted into an article for some kind of jewish publication as well)

@IsaacMoses FYI the KMS staff wasn't careful to remove Sheimot from the flyer (if it was intended to be printed). The bottom of the Gemara there has a clear quote from Kohelet שְׁמֹר רגליך כַּאֲשֶׁר תֵּלֵךְ אֶל-בֵּית הָאֱלֹהִים

@Menachem I'll share artifacts if I make them. Hmmm converting this into and essay? Maybe ....
@DoubleAA good catch. I know of one printed copy of the flyer, buy maybe it's also intended to go in the weekly announcements sheet. I'll let them know

@mevaqesh I've noticed a striking coincidence that you post this friendly little reminder only on questions to which you have an answer. OPs have absolutely no obligation to accept an answer or explain why they aren't accepting it. Please stop leaving me these comments. — Y ez 47 secs ago

@Yez I post on questions on which I have not posted answers as well. (e.g. here, here, here,
and here). Obviously I am most familiar with questions that seemingly have good unmarked answers, when I posted one. Even if I commented specifically where I posted, as you falsely accuse me, there would be nothing sinister about it; it is consistent with site policy
(see here), and note also here. || Obviously no one has an obligation to mark questions correct, or to clarify what information they are looking for in their question.
