Q: Jewish Life vs. Opinion-based/too broad

DonielFThis is not to rehash the Jewish life parameters. Go take that over there. My question is where we draw the line between that and off-topic as opinion based. Jewish life questions seem to be of the form "Judaism causes problem X. Any tips on how to solve that?" For instance: Due to learning, my...

Newer diamonds (and lack of diamonds, too) make this comment somewhat interesting, @IsaacMoses @MonicaCellio
...apparently, deleted comments no longer onebox. Oh well :/

Meant to ping @DoubleAA instead of Monica; she converted that answer to a comment, but the commenter with a diamond was Double AA. Oops.

If I may be so bold as to ask: Why has this not been closed as opinion-based? — DonielF 8 hours ago

@IsaacMoses Saw that. Reviewed to leave open.
@MoriDowidhYa3aqov This one? I saw it in the review queue, but really don't understand it, so I haven't voted to reopen. Maybe I'll give it a try later. After you edit a closed question, it enters the review queue automatically; it already has one reopen vote.

^^^ Well, it does fall short of our standard for questions of providing criteria it's looking for. Given that it's /q/1, it seems like maybe a good candidate for Historical Lock. What do you think?

@IsaacMoses Hmm.
That's one option, but we could also edit it to include more detailed criteria. It already has "crowd-sourced answers" as one criterion.
@Shokhet Note also that you can vote to reopen your own question, even if you can't close/reopen others' questions, at the rep level that you have, @MoriDowidhYa3aqov.

@Shokhet Tricky, given that it's already been answered.

@IsaacMoses There are only three (undeleted) answers, and two of them are yours.
What sort of criteria would you add? Maybe there's something that those answers already cover.

@Shokhet Hmm.. That would be an interesting exercise for stating the values I think Mi Yodeya should aspire to (some of which it already excels at).

@IsaacMoses Right. The trick, then, would be to do that without invalidating the second-to-top answer (if that email list is still alive). I assume the poster of the third-to-top answer will be מוחל, if he must.
Does an email list count as a website? — Shokhet 5 secs ago
@Shokhet I assume as well that the top answer can be edited to show how MY satisfies those criteria, possibly with example links.

@Shokhet the email list is alive but infrequent. Not as infrequent as the archives would suggest, though, so I guess that's a manual process and the owner hasn't kept up.

@Shokhet it has a direct question being asked in the title: "Do Northern Ashkenazim have a Mesora to the Gaonim?" and look at the comment " main idea is do northern ashkenazim have a connection the the gaonim zl. i brought claims by various academics and hakhomim on the topic. what im looking for is concrete evidence, if there is any for the claim that northern ashkenazim do have this mesora "
the body has information, the heading is the question
