@DoubleAA I think you see your own, and mods see it, but as a 10k non-mod user on other sites I've never seen it for other people. (And I had the max privilege on a beta site where the bar is lower -- still nothing AFAIK.)
I need to find more questions that I can answer (and add something new to), and/or more good questions to ask. My rep on another site threatens to overcome my rep on Mi Yodeya and that would be Just Wrong. :-) (And no, I'm not looking to fix it via downvotes there, thanks, but maybe bounties...)

@MonicaCellio If you want I can join the workplace and start downvoting everything you say there. Always here to help.

@YEZ did you catch that thing I said about "not looking to fix it via downvotes"? I'm looking for positive actions -- besides, I want to help improve Mi Yodeya! I'm just at a loss sometimes because so many others here know way more than I do...

YEZ
@MonicaCellio I assumed you meant through you downvoting. The -1 penalty.
Thus the comparison to bounties.
I had it all worked out in my head.
I can prove it to you that it's what you meant!

@YEZ oh! No, not what I meant but I see how it could read that way. I do DV, but I meant I wasn't looking to attract downvotes.

@MonicaCellio There is a more authoritative source for this than a random blog, but it's the best I found for now - see last paragraph here
I'm pretty sure the source is a Tumim.

@YEZ :-) Though I suppose it's flattering to be compared to the Rambam -- mistaken, of course, but still...
Wow, suddenly I've gotten several upvotes here. Thanks, whoever it is, but I hope nobody thinks I was shilling for votes! (Also, if that's one person, do be mindful of serial voting... vote on posts not people, and there's a script that'll reverse it if you don't seem to be doing that.)
My goal is to be worthy of positive feedback, not to scrounge around to get it. So I need to do more work.

@MonicaCellio I recently complained about how I don't get to see the older posts that predated my time here. So I was going through some of your older posts and voting on the ones that I genuinely found upvote worthy

@YEZ ok thanks. I hope you're reviewing other answers (and the questions) there and upvoting everything you find genuinely upvote-worthy.

YEZ
@MonicaCellio Don't worry, some other people got upvotes out of this expedition. And I think I even got Gershon Gold a badge.

@YEZ excellent. I always enjoy coming across good posts that I missed the first time -- I feel like I'm correcting an omission by voting, and maybe somebody gets a pleasant surprise. :-)

YEZ
@MonicaCellio it also mitigates this issue

@YEZ true.

@MonicaCellio If you decide to go through all of my old posts, I won't complain :)
(but don't actually)

@MonicaCellio I always get mildly puzzled when I get a vote on an ancient question or answer. I actually got a "good answer" badge on SO just yesterday, for something absurdly simple I wrote in 2012.
I mean, does this little thing about mime types really deserve that badge? I think not, but it's been gradually accumulating upvotes over the years.
My highest voted SO answer is even simpler. And my highest voted CSE answer is also something I wrote off the top of my head. Voting patters are strange.

@MonicaCellio I just got the Chrome malware business for this comment (also made by me) chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/468?m=14181714#14181714

I find this ironinc: for this answer which took me 25 seconds and no critical thinking, I got 115 reputation and a silver badge http://judaism.stackexchange.com/a/36035/4794 and for this answer which took me close to 20 minutes and involved putting a lot together I got 10 reputation points http://judaism.stackexchange.com/questions/28379/why-does-sharpening-depend-on-e‌ffort-and-memorization-on-divine-assistance/36028#36028

@Meta-Man I decided to ask it on the SE Meta - meta.stackexchange.com/questions/5551/random-question-button

5:59 PM
@YEZ I caught many of them on the first time around. :-)
@TRiG most of my voting on SO is because I googled for a problem I was having, landed there to find that someone had already asked and answered, so I leave votes. Maybe you're benefitting from search too. (More broadly, on sites I'm interested in I sometimes go tag-surfing, not to solve a problem but just because I'm curious about what's been covered in a given area. There, too, I'll leave votes as I wander through the site.)
But yeah, voting can be strange sometimes -- there are things I put a lot of effort into and get crickets, and things that I just knocked off that get more votes than I expected. Sometimes the crickets are because it's a niche topic, e.g. when I answer tech-writing questions on Writers I know there won't be many readers, but I'm doing it to share knowledge so eh whatever.

@YEZ That's המשלשים לך קדושה (in nuschaos I've seen afair, anyway).

I wonder if http://judaism.stackexchange.com/q/10483 has been linked to from somewhere recently. I just got two upvotes on it, and it hasn't been bumped on-site.

I see that that icons/idols question has two reopen votes. The author seems to think he's made it clearer; I'm not sure I agree, but since two people voted to reopen and it was closed by a single mod vote, I encourage folks to go look. (If you have 3k and haven't already considered it, you should be able to find it in the reopen queue if you want to vote for "leave closed".)

@MonicaCellio FWIW I would close it now if it were never closed.

@msh210 thanks, good to know.

@MonicaCellio How come it isn't showing up in my review queue?
Oh I already voted previously to leave closed.

@YEZ hmm. It's been in the queue, but maybe it aged out or maybe things leave the queue after they get a certain number of reviews even if no conclusion is reached? I know that first posts are only reviewed by a couple people (I think it's two), and there's some formula by which things drop out of the LQ queue, but I thought reopen (and close) stayed there as long as there were pending votes.
@YEZ oh. Or that. :-)

Hi Aharon, and welcome to Mi Yodeah. Part of what gives this site its character is that posts are focused responses to questions, not a place to just post related opinion. The question asks why no one was appointed as a successor. Opinion that someone should be and how much better it would be if someone was just doesn't address the question. I hope you stick around and find other questions that you can address directly, or perhaps take another shot at this one. — Yishai 8 mins ago
Well-written comment -- thanks Yishai! (Who hasn't been in chat, but I wanted to commend him anyway.)

YEZ
@MonicaCellio Your super-mod powers can't ping him nonetheless?

@YEZ hmm, I'd initially thought that that might be excessive, but it's only an inbox notification, so sure: @yishai kudos on that comment! ^^^
